What we do //

MACHINE WORK, FINISH WORK, EVERYTHING BETWEEN.

One bench, one shop, one set of hands. Nothing gets shipped off to a third party and quietly marked up.

SPEC // 01

CERAKOTE FINISHING

An extremely durable ceramic coating, in just about any pattern you can imagine. Solids, multi-color, camo, distressed. It is the thing we are known for and the reason most people call.

SPEC // 02

LASER ENGRAVING

On its own or laid over a Cerakote finish. Combining the two is where the genuinely one-off designs come from.

SPEC // 03

STIPPLING

Grip texture for Glock frames and similar polymer pistols, cut to a pattern that suits your personality and grip.

SPEC // 04

RMR MILLING

Slide milled on our own machine so a red dot sits low, locks in and co-witnesses the way it should.

SPEC // 05

SCOPE MOUNTING

Mounted level, torqued to spec and sighted in before it goes home. A good optic on a lazy mount is a wasted optic.

SPEC // 06

BARREL & THREADING

Custom barreling and muzzle threading turned on the lathe in the shop, not sent out and waited on.

SPEC // 07

CUSTOM BUILDS

AR platforms with Lifetime Warranty and bolt action rifles built to your spec, from the receiver up. Precision and function drive every call.

SPEC // 08

SERVICE & REPAIR

Cleaning, servicing and repair work on the guns you already own, including the ones that have been sitting a while.

SPEC // 09

OPTICS

Quality day, night and thermal glass from Steiner, Nightforce and Trijicon, matched to the rifle and to how you will use it.

The specialty // Cerakote

A FINISH THAT OUTLIVES THE ARGUMENT About finishes.

Cerakote is a ceramic-based coating that goes on thin and holds up to the things that ruin bluing and paint: solvents, salt, holster wear, weather and the back of a truck. It is not a color you baby. It is a color you carry.

Because it is sprayed rather than dipped, the pattern is a design decision rather than a catalog number. Solid colors, two-tone receivers, camo, distressed and battleworn treatments, or a full custom scheme worked out with you before anything gets masked. Pair it with laser engraving and you get depth that a coating alone cannot do.

NO TWO LEAVE LOOKING THE SAME.

WHO YOU ARE DEALING WITH

Brad Burns and a FEDERAL LICENSE TO BUILD.

Omega Firearms has been doing custom work for East Texas for the past five years, out of the shop at FM 1798 W in Laneville.

The Type 07 Federal Firearms License matters more than it sounds like it does. A dealer can sell you a gun. A manufacturer can build one, cut a receiver, thread a barrel and mill a slide, legally, in house. That license is why a custom build here starts at the machine instead of at a parts catalog.

Not a counter with a catalog behind it. A mill, a lathe, a bench and the license to build on it. Call and ahead and you are welcome to come see the work before you leave a gun with anybody, including us.

The work runs from a full ground-up rifle to a Glock that needs its grip cut down and a red dot dropped in. High-end 1911s, precision rifles and quality glass are where most of the attention goes, but your Grandfather's hunting rifle that may need restoration or cleaning , it is just as welcome on the bench.

Common Questions

BEFORE YOU CALL.

Precision Sites

What is Cerakote?

Cerakote is a thin ceramic-based coating sprayed onto firearm metal and polymer, then cured. It resists solvents, corrosion, abrasion and holster wear far better than bluing or paint, and it can be applied in effectively any color or pattern. It is the coating Omega Firearms specializes in. Find color options here: https://www.cerakote.com/shop/cerakote-coating

Do you build custom rifles?

Yes. Omega Firearms holds a Type 07 Federal Firearms License, which is a manufacturing license, so complete AR platform and bolt action rifles can be built in house from the receiver up. Barrel work, threading and chambering are done on the shop lathe rather than sent out.

Can you mill my pistol slide for a red dot?

Yes. RMR footprint milling and optic mounting are done on the shop's own machine, so the cut is set for your specific slide and sight rather than an adapter plate stack. Stippling on Glock and similar polymer frames is handled at the same time if you want both done in one visit.

How much does Cerakote cost?

Every job is quoted individually, because the price depends on the firearm, how many parts come apart, how many colors are involved and how complex the pattern is. A single-color pistol slide and a full multi-color rifle build are not the same job. Call or email with what you have in mind and you will get a real number before any work starts.

Where is Omega Firearms located?

The shop is at FM 1798 W in Laneville, Texas 75667, in East Texas. It is a working shop and a retail storefront, visits are by a scheduled appointment. Call or email to let us know you're coming by.

Do you work on handguns as well as rifles?

Absolutely! We particularly love working on 1911's. Work includes Cerakote, laser engraving, stippling, milling/porting, optic mounting and general service and repair.
